Nine Steps to Amazingly Clean Sofas and Upholstery

Inspection
We start by inspecting your upholstery to identify the fabric type, condition, and any problem areas. This allows us to tailor our cleaning approach to suit your furniture perfectly.
Preparing the Area
We protect your home by laying down tarpaulins and drop cloths to protect your floors, move nearby furniture, creating a safe, tidy workspace before beginning.
Cleaning the Crevices
Before we start the deep cleaning, we will vacuum all the crevices and hidden gaps of the sofa to remove everything that has become trapped over the years.
Pre-treatment Application
A specialist cleaning solution is applied and then gently worked into the fabric to loosen dirt, oils, and allergens trapped within the fibres, preparing them for effective cleaning.
Hot Water Extraction
Using our powerful equipment, we rinse with hot water to remove the loosened soiling and remove all cleaning products, leaving you with fresh, clean upholstery fabric.
Spot Treatment
We carefully re-treat any remaining stains with our range of specialist products to give the best possible finish. All treatments for marks, stains and odours are included in the cost, so there are no hidden extra charges.
Grooming and Pile Care
We reset the fabric pile, grooming it in place and leaving a soft finish.
Accelerated Drying
Our advanced equipment removes most of the moisture used in cleaning compared to conventional machines, and we can use large air movers if needed to speed up drying, meaning your furniture is ready to enjoy sooner. You can expect to sit on it the next day.

What is 'van-mounted' Hot Water Extraction Upholstery Cleaning?

Rothwell’s van mounted system has far more vacuum power than any portable electric machine (which many carpet and upholstery cleaners use).

Better Air Flow. As well as more power the van mounted “positive displacement” vacuum system ensures high air movement even when the tool is held against the fabric, whereas portables work centrifugally. This means standard portable machines have little air movement while the tool is in contact with the fabric, whereas our van mounted system still has a large amount of air flow. This extra air flow not only means drier upholstery but cleaner upholstery too, with much more of the dirty water being removed.

Hot Water. We also have constant warm water with full control over the temperature that we clean at. Other systems either use cold water or attempt to heat it with a large kettle element that in our experience cannot keep up and leaves you with cold water anyway. It is a big advantage to have hot water and gives an overall higher quality of upholstery cleaning. And because it is fully controllable on fabrics that require a lower heat we can do that at a turn of a handle.

Own Power & Water. We carry our own water and takeaway the waste water. Our main machine is powered by LPG rather than your electricity supply.

Van-mounted upholstery cleaning systems are a big investment for any firm to make but we believe in investing in our business to bring you the best results possible. This is true when investing in the right equipment, products, people and training.

Stain Protection

Extra help against future soiling. For those of you wishing to give extra protection for your upholstery we can apply stain protection. This works by surrounding each fibre in the upholstery with a protective invisible coating which makes the upholstery resistant to every-day soiling, water-based and oil based stains. This protective coating does not affect the look or feel of your upholstery. Stainguarding (or "protection") does not protect against everything but is a useful tool to help keep your sofas looking clean for longer. It makes regular cleaning easier and helps with effective cleaning of spills and spots. Stainguarding does wear off over time and will need to be reapplied after 12 – 24 months.

Do I Pay Extra For Treatment Of Stains?

No.

Our cleaning is fully inclusive, so we will treat all marks and stains included in the price we quote. And every inch of the upholstery will be cleaned, we don't miss out the backs or undersides of the cushions. (I should point out we can not guarantee all marks and stains are removable, just that we will use our expertise, equipment, products and experience to do everything that is possible to remove stains.)
